Shiviti is the first word in the Hebrew verse of Psalm 16:8, Shiviti Hashem l’negdi tamid (שִׁוִּ֬יתִי יְהֹוָ֣ה לְנֶגְדִּ֣י תָמִ֑יד), meaning “I have set the Lord always before me.” This decorative paper cutting design includes the lions of Judah, Torah crown, and shaddai hands of the Priestly blessing. Its purpose is to create a holy space.
