Description
A mizrach is a traditional Jewish wall plaque that marks the direction of prayer toward Jerusalem, helping to orient the heart and home toward holiness. This papercut brings that tradition into a decorative, meaningful form, combining classic Jewish symbols with a layered composition that feels both rooted and artful.
At the center is the seven-branched Temple menorah, surrounded by crowned lions of Judah, leafy vines, and doves. Above them, the Jerusalem skyline appears beneath a sky of Stars of David, while the Hebrew word mizrach — “east” — is displayed on a banner. Together, the imagery creates a piece that feels like a blessing for the home and a reminder of prayer, tradition, and connection.
This makes a thoughtful gift for a bar or bat mitzvah, conversion celebration, ordination, or for anyone creating a Jewish prayer space in the home.
