Description
L’dor v’dor — from generation to generation.
This papercut tells a story of connection: of where she comes from, and who she is becoming.
Framed by the words “L’dor v’dor,” the design follows a flowing path from one generation of women to the next. A willow tree roots the scene, giving way to a river of gold that moves through mothers, daughters, and ancestors—each figure dancing with tambourines, echoing Miriam and the tradition of women’s voices, strength, and joy.
Touches of hand-applied gold paint bring warmth and light to the piece, catching the eye and adding a sense of significance suited to life’s meaningful milestones.
Created as a Bat Mitzvah gift, this artwork honors a young woman stepping into her place within a long and living tradition—while also making a powerful piece for mothers, grandmothers, and family homes.
