Description
“Tzedek, tzedek tirdof” — Justice justice you shall pursue. (Deuteronomy 16:20)
When I walk through the woods and listen to birds sing, the vibrations they send out touch every object in their path, whether tree or stone or me. I am part of their song by my very presence.
To bear witness is its own form of justice. The bird’s song asks nothing of us — but those who choose to listen, to stand in the presence of something larger than themselves and say “I was here, I heard this” — that impulse is the root of every courthouse, every ruling, every act of advocacy.
This piece is hand-cut and layered with subtle gold paint beneath the design, adding warmth and luminosity—catching the light and giving the piece a sense of quiet significance.
